HMD Global Launches Fusion with 108MP Camera, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, and ‘Smart Outfits’ in India

Following recent teasers, HMD Global has officially launched its latest smartphone, the HMD Fusion, in the Indian market. The device brings a groundbreaking approach to smartphone customization through its ‘Smart Outfits’ technology, featuring a unique modular design. At the heart of this innovation is a specialized six-pin connector on the device’s back panel, designed to support various smart cases that not only modify the phone’s hardware capabilities but also adapt its software interface dynamically.

The company has introduced three distinct outfits: Casual, Flashy, and Gaming, each designed to cater to different user needs and preferences. For gaming enthusiasts, HMD has partnered with Digital Turbine and Aptoide in India to provide an enhanced gaming experience. This collaboration brings the Aptoide game store to the Fusion, featuring a dedicated section for controller-specific games under “Play with your HMD Gaming outfit.” Digital Turbine’s SingleTap™ technology ensures smooth game discovery and installation.

Specifications and Features

The HMD Fusion comes equipped with a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD display featuring a 90Hz refresh rate and 600 nits peak brightness. At its core, the device runs on the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 4nm Mobile Platform, pairing 2.2 GHz A78-based cores with 2GHz A55-based Kryo CPUs and an Adreno 613 GPU. Camera capabilities include a 108MP main rear camera with EIS, accompanied by a 2MP portrait lens, while the front houses a 50MP selfie camera. The device features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and carries an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. Running on Android 14, HMD promises two OS updates and three years of security updates.
