Honor confirms September 13 launch event in China, new foldable phone expected
On Sept. 1, Honor will be present at the IFA 2023 tech event in Berlin, Germany to announce new the Honor Magic V2 and another foldable phone for the global market. Today, the brand confirmed that it will also hold a launch event in China at 2:30 pm (local time) on Sept. 13. Since there is no official confirmation from Honor about the device that will be unveiled on the said date, it is speculated that the brand may announce the Magic Vs 2 or Magic V Slim
Recently, an Honor device with model number VCA-AN00 was seen at Chinese certification platforms, such as MIIT and 3C. The 3C certification revealed that it will come with support for 35W fast charging. Rumours surrounding the device have claimed that it will be Honor’s first foldable phone with an outward foldable design. Unfortunately, there is no information available on the about the other specifications of the device.
At present, the only other brand that offers an outwardly foldable smartphone is Huawei. Launched last year in China, the Huawei Mate Xs 2 features a 7.8-inch foldable screen and a 6.5-inch cover display.
In related news, Honor is also said to be working on another foldable phone called the Honor Magic V2 Lite (Youth Edition). Priced at around 6,000 Yuan, the Magic V2 Lite is expected to come equipped with specifications, such as the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and a 5,500mAh battery with 66W rapid charging. It is speculated that the device will debut in October in China.
