Honor Play 50 and Play 50m Launched In China With Similar Specs But Different Price
Honor, a Chinese tech giant recently launched two new smartphones in the home market named Honor Play 50 and Play 50m. The catch is in the price of these two silently launched handsets. These phones come with similar designs and specs and despite that, the price is not the same. We will see the difference in price later in this article but before that let’s get to know about the specs of these two similar handsets
Specifications of the Honor Play 50 and Play 50m(JDY-AN00)
The smartphone features a 6.56-inch wide TFT LCD display that offers 720 x 1612 pixel resolution and a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. Devices are powered by Dimensity 6100+ processor and run Android 14 based MagicOS 8.0.
The camera section of the smartphone has a 13MP primary camera on the rear and a 5MP selfie camera. These phones are backed by a 5200mAh battery that supports 10W charging. The weight is approximately 190 grams while its dimensions are 163.59 x 75.33 x 8.39mm.
Price and availability
The Honor Play 50 pricing starts from 1199 Yuan (~$165) for a 6GB+128GB configuration while its 8GB+256GB version is priced at 1399 Yuan(~$194). The Honor Play 50m pricing starts from 1499 Yuan(~$207) for the 6GB + 128GB variant and goes up to 1899 Yuan(~$262) for the 8GB+256GB variant. Honor has not said the reason behind the difference in price though reports suggest that this difference can be because of variations in distribution channels. These discrepancies will keep on making headlines but we should not forget that Honor is nowadays also gearing up to launch Band 9 in the global market.
