Honor Power 5G launches with 8000mAh Battery, 6.78″ 1.5K AMOLED Display, and Snapdragon 7 Gen 3

Honor is now likely the first smartphone manufacturer to launch a device with an 8000mAh battery. After much anticipation, the smartphone has officially launched in China, the Honor Power 5G.

Honor Power 5G specs

The Honor Power 5G is built around a large 8000mAh battery, based on Honor’s third-generation Qinghai Lake lithium-ion polymer technology. The battery supports 66W wired fast charging and reverse charging, and Honor claims it maintains long-term health for up to six years. The typical battery capacity is 8000mAh, while the rated capacity is 7850mAh.

The phone features a 6.78-inch AMOLED quad-curved display with a resolution of 2700×1224 pixels (1.5K). It supports HDR display, 1.07 billion colours, DCI-P3 wide colour gamut, and offers 3840Hz PWM dimming for eye comfort, along with various eye protection modes such as low blue light, natural light adjustment, and sleep-aiding display. The display supports up to 10-point multi-touch.

Physically, the device measures 163.7mm (length), 76.7mm (width), and 7.98mm (thickness), with a weight of about 209g. It comes with CQC certification for extended screen-on use and is designed to operate in extreme environments ranging from -30°C to 55°C.

Under the hood, the phone runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, built with an octa-core CPU (1×A715 at 2.63GHz, 3×A715 at 2.4GHz, 4×A510 at 1.8GHz) and an Adreno 720 GPU. It comes with MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15.

The rear camera setup includes:

  • 50MP main camera with OIS (f/1.95)
  • 5MP wide-angle camera
  • Video recording up to 4K, with support for 10x digital zoom, night mode, portrait, professional mode, and more.

The front camera is a 16MP sensor (f/2.45), supporting up to 1080p video recording, face recognition, gesture selfies, and other typical shooting modes.

The phone is equipped with Honor’s C1+ RF-enhanced communication chip, supports dual SIM dual 5G, and features bidirectional BeiDou satellite SMS (exclusive to the 12GB+512GB variant). For navigation, it supports GPS (L1+L5), BeiDou (triple-band), Galileo, Glonass, NavIC, and QZSS.

Other connectivity features include:

  • Bluetooth 5.3 (supporting SBC, AAC, LDAC, aptX, aptX HD)
  • Wi-Fi positioning
  • NFC with card emulation and read/write modes
  • USB Type-C (USB 2.0)
  • Stereo speakers with HONOR SOUND
  • PC data sync, OTG, wireless projection, and multi-screen collaboration

Sensors include a fingerprint scanner, gyroscope, ambient light, proximity sensor, compass, and gravity sensor.

The phone also integrates a wide range of software features, such as AI-based smart vision, parallel space, gesture controls, smart folders, desktop customisation, multi-window multitasking, and Magic Text for text recognition.

Pricing and Availability

The Honor Power will be available in three configurations:

  • 8GB + 256GB: ¥1999 (subsidised price: ¥1699.15)
  • 12GB + 256GB: ¥2199 (subsidised price: ¥1869.15)
  • 12GB + 512GB: ¥2499 (subsidised price: ¥2124.15)

Pre-orders began on April 15, 2025, at 20:00, with official sales starting April 18 at 10:08 via Honor Mall, authorised e-commerce partners, and experience stores in China.
