Huawei Pocket S2 leak reveals chipset, battery size, colour variants
Huawei is reportedly working on its next clamshell foldable phone, the Pocket S2, for the Chinese market. While there is no official confirmation from the brand, it appears that the device may debut on Feb. 27. In a new Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station has shared information on the design, colour variants, chipset, and battery size of what seems to be the Pocket S2.
The new leak suggests that the Pocket S2 will continue to have the same design as the original Pocket S, which debuted in November 2022. It appears that it will have two circular modules for the rear-facing triple camera unit and the secondary screen. The leak suggests that both modules will be larger than those seen in the previous generation.
The leak suggests that there could be a special Art edition of the Pocket S2. This model is expected to feature 3D relief technology. As far as the regular version is concerned, the S2 is likely to come in grey and purple colour variants. The grey model will have a glass back, while the purple edition features plain leather.
DCS’ Weibo post also reveals that the Pocket S2 will be a 5G-enabled device featuring the Kirin K9000S 5G chip. In addition, it will pack a 4,520mAh battery, which will be the largest as compared to other clamshell foldables available on the market. A previous leak by DCS revealed that it will offer 66W fast charging.
While he did not go into specifics, he claimed that Huawei is also working on a tri-foldable smartphone. He is of the view that Huawei will offer industry-leading software and hardware features on its foldables.
