India’s First MediaTek Helio G50 smartphone “TECNO POP 9 4G” launching on November 22nd

TECNO is expanding its Pop 9 series in India with a new 4G variant, following the recent launch of the Pop 9 5G. The upcoming device will be India’s first smartphone powered by the MediaTek Helio G50 processor.

The company has begun teasing the device on Amazon India with a dedicated microsite showing a “coming soon” message, with availability set for November 22. While TECNO has confirmed the Pop 9 4G will be positioned in the budget segment, pricing hints on Amazon suggest it will be priced at “₹X,X99.” Given that the Pop 9 5G variant is currently priced at ₹9,999 for the 128GB storage model, the 4G variant is likely to be positioned at a lower price point to maintain clear market segmentation.

Here are some of the key specs revealed on the Amazon Microsite

The Pop 9 4G stands out as India’s first smartphone to feature the MediaTek Helio G50 processor, promising smooth multitasking capabilities. The device comes equipped with 6GB of RAM, which includes 3GB of virtual RAM through TECNO’s Memory Fusion technology, and offers 64GB of internal storage that’s expandable up to 1TB. The smartphone features a 90Hz display for smooth visuals and dual stereo speakers for an enhanced audio experience. In the camera department, it sports a 13MP rear camera and includes an IR Blaster for added convenience.

The device is powered by a robust 5000mAh Li-Polymer battery, which, according to internal testing, delivers impressive endurance with up to 840 hours of 4G standby, 32 hours of talk time, 9.5 hours of video playback, and 100 hours of music playback. Adding to its durability, the phone comes with IP54 dust and splash resistance, a feature rarely found in this price segment.

TECNO will offer the Pop 9 4G in three attractive color options: Glittery White, Lime Green, and Startrail Black, catering to different user preferences.
