Infinix HOT 50 5G Launches in India: Entry-Level 5G Smartphone

Infinix has introduced its latest entry-level 5G smartphone, the HOT 50 5G, to the Indian market. The device, which features a design departing from the typical iPhone-like camera setup, is set to go on sale starting September 9th via Flipkart. Priced at ₹9,999 for the 4GB+128GB variant and ₹10,999 for the 8GB+128GB model, the smartphone aims to make 5G technology more accessible to budget-conscious consumers. Prospective buyers can take advantage of an instant ₹1,000 discount on Axis Bank and ICICI Bank debit and credit card transactions.

The HOT 50 5G comes in four color options: Sleek Black, Vibrant Blue, Sage Green, and a Dreamy Purple variant featuring a vegan leather finish. It sports a large 6.7-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, although the bezels, particularly at the bottom, are noticeably thick. Under the hood, the device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. This configuration allows for smooth handling of casual tasks and gaming at 30-40fps, with an AnTuTu benchmark score of 430,000.

In terms of photography, the HOT 50 5G is equipped with a 48MP primary camera featuring a Sony IMX582 sensor, complemented by an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. The device draws power from a 5000mAh battery, which the company claims can last for more than a day on a single charge. While it supports 18W charging, the package includes a 10W charger.

Additional features of the Infinix HOT 50 5G include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor with wet touch support, Android 14 with XOS 14 (which brings several AI features, including an AI Wallpaper Generator), dual SIM support, expandable storage, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a single speaker, Bluetooth 5.4, and an IP54 water and dust resistance rating. The device also boasts a TUV SUD A-Level 5 years of fluency rating.

Measuring 165.7 x 77.1 x 7.82mm and weighing 188g, the Infinix HOT 50 5G positions itself as one of the slimmer options in the entry-level 5G smartphone segment. As the device makes its way into the hands of users, more insights into its real-world performance and value proposition are expected to emerge, potentially influencing its standing in the competitive affordable 5G market.
