iQOO 12 5G spotted on Indonesian SDPPI certification website; could debut in other markets too along with India

The Chinese smartphone brand iQOO has recently unveiled its flagship series- the iQOO 12 series in its home country. The series included two models- iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro. Among the two smartphones, iQOO 12 5G is also officially confirmed to make its debut in India on December 12, 2023.

The company has started teasing a few features of iQOO 12 in India while recently the support page of the upcoming device was made live on Amazon’s official website. Other than the Indian market, iQOO 12 is also expected to make its way in the global markets as recently our team at The Tech Outlook has spotted the device on Indonesia’s SDPPI certification website.

The smartphone appeared with model number I220. Except for the moniker name and model number nothing much is revealed about the upcoming smartphone from the listing but since the device has already made its debut in China the specifications are already known to us.

iQOO 12: Specifications

iQOO 12 smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and has the brand’s self-developed e-sports chip Q1 onboard. The device is also integrated with the Adreno 750 GPU and runs on the Android 14-based OriginOS 4 custom user interface. Three storage variants have also been introduced – 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB.

For its display, it has a flat AMOLED display panel with a screen size of 6.78″, a resolution of 1260 x 2800 pixels, and a refresh rate of 144Hz. At its rear, a triple camera setup is present, housing a main camera of 50MP, a periscope telephoto camera of 64MP, and an ultrawide camera of 50MP. A front-facing camera of 16MP is also there for selfies. Regarding the battery, the smartphone packs a 5,000 mAh battery, which supports a fast charging feature of up to 120W

Other specifications include 5G network connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6/7 with triple band support and Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, a four-zone cooling system, stereo speakers, under-display optical fingerprint sensor, 8.1mm/8.4mm thickness, and 198.5gm/203.7gm weight.

iQOO 12 5G will be India’s first smartphone that will be powered with the newly launched Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It will be arriving in Black and white color variants in India.
