Meizu 21, FlymeOS 10.5 Custom Skin, and Many Wearable Devices Unveiled in China

Meizu, one of the leading Chinese consumer electronics manufacturers, has launched its flagship 21 smartphone device, along with the FlymeOS 10.5 custom skin and other latest wearable devices, at a recently conducted event in China. The pre-orders for the newly released devices are also currently live in China.

Meizu 21

The Meizu 21 smartphone notably has 1.74mm narrow symmetrical bezels on all four of its sides and has a multi-scene interactive ring lighting system at its rear. For its display, it features Samsung’s 6.55″ AMOLED super power saving flat display screen supporting a 120Hz refresh rate, 1920Hz high-frequency dimming, and an 1800 nits peak brightness rate.

Coming to its performance side, the device is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, and has a cooling technology for a stable performance. The device also comes with the game mode 6.0, and is backed by a 4800 mAh battery with 80W Meizu Super Charge and 65W PD Fast Charge support. The smartphone also runs on the latest FlymeOS 10.5 custom skin.

The latest device also sports a 200MP flagship camera, supporting four times lossless single-lens zoom, multi-focal main-level image quality, AI portrait rejuvenation algorithm, and a star stream imaging AI.

Some of the other flagship features offered on the device are the Antenna System 2.0, mSmart Net, mEngine ultra flagship touch engine, ultrasonic fingerprint unlocking 2.0, and the sixth generation master-level dual speaker unit. Meizu’s 21 smartphone is also the first smartphone to pass QQ Music’s Premium Certification for external surround sound.

About the price, the smartphone comes in three storage options – 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, & 12GB/512GB, with price points of CNY 3399, CNY 3699, & CNY 3999, respectively. The pre-sale for all the models are live, and the open sale will be on the 5th of December 2023, next month, at 10 AM local time. The device comes in four colors – Unbound Black, Smart Purple, Sharp Green, and Meizu White.

FlymeOS 10.5

The FlymeOS 10.5 is integrated with the Aicy assistant and can do a lot for its users. It serves as a personal assistant and is connected to a massive knowledge reserve, enabling it to answer any sort of questions. The assistant can also generate writings and ideas for its users as well.

Assisting users in their daily tasks, Aicy will also offer smart travel suggestions, making things worry-free and effortless. The personal assistant will provide details regarding their flight travel and hotel stay too.

The Gallery app has also received significant improvements with the power of AI. AI image search, magic removal, image extension, and AI photo are some of the added features.

The custom skin also lets users copy passwords & URLs and open apps & websites instantly with Copy Direct. AICY Smart Ring Light and Flyme AR are again some great features introduced with the custom skin. Flyme Auto is again a new feature assisting its users to make their driving experience much better.

Regarding the upgrade plan, the internal beta registration for Meizu’s 20, 20 Pro, and 20 Infinity devices will start on the 1st of December, and the stable version will be rolled out in January 2024. For the 18, 18 Pro, 18s, 18s Pro, 18X, 17, and 17 Pro devices, the beta registration begins in January 2024, and the stable version roll-out will be in March 2024. For the latest Meizu 21, the stable FlymeOS 10.5 will come preinstalled within it.

The first batch of devices for Flyme AI internal testing has also been announced, and smartphones including the latest Meizu 21, 20, 20 Pro, and 20 Infinity are part of the list. The testing will start in early December 2023.

Latest Wearables

Three new wearable devices have been released under the MYVU branding. Two All-Weather Stylish AR Smart Glasses and a Smart Ring have been introduced.

Powered by a 4nm Snapdragon chipset and integrated with Flyme AR, the two smart glasses offer some really exciting features to its users. Both smart glasses have light-weight designs too, making them comfortable to wear. The MYVU Ring is an interactive “mirror ring” with a longer battery life and many other features.

The MYVU Smart Glasses are priced at CNY 9999 and CNY 2499 respectively for the Discovery and Normal models. The price of the MYVU ring hasn’t been revealed yet. All the devices are now put up for pre-orders via all shopping platforms in China and is live now.
