Meizu 21 receives 3C certification, likely to launch this year

Earlier this year, Meizu unveiled the Meizu 20 and Meizu 20 Pro flagship phones equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Speculations are rife that the company may announce the Meizu 21 series this year in the home market. It seems possible, as the standard model from the series has received approval from the 3C authority in China.

According to reports, model numbers such as M461Q, M461H, and M461S are all associated with the standard Meizu 21. On the other hand, the Meizu 21 Pro seems to have the M481Q and M481S model numbers.

Meizu 21 3C certification

As can be seen in the above screenshot, the Meizu 21’s M461Q variant has been approved by China’s 3C authority. The listing reveals that the device may ship with a UP2040 power adapter that offers up to 80W charging. Earlier this month, the Meizu 21 Pro’s M481S variant was spotted in the database of China’s radio certification. These certifications hint that the Meizu 21 and 21 Pro may debut in November or December of this year.

The Meizu 21 and 21 Pro are expected to come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It is speculated that the standard model would have a 4,800mAh battery, whereas the Pro edition would pack a 5,020mAh battery.

To recall, the Meizu 20 supports 67W fast charging, whereas the Meizu 20 Pro offers 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. There is a possibility that the Meizu 21 and 21 Pro will both support 80W charging, but only the Pro variant may offer 50W wireless charging.
