Motorola confirms Snapdragon 8s gen 3 smartphone for the global audience

Just yesterday, Motorola confirmed that it will launch a smartphone on the 16th of April for the Global audience. At that time, I thought it would be Edge 50 Pro, as the smartphone’s pricing was recently leaked for the German market. However, today Motorola has posted on platform X, that they will launch a smartphone powered by the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. We all know, the X50 Ultra will be launched in China with the SD 8s Gen 3 Processor. The global variant will be Edge 50 Ulltra and might land in the USA as Edge + 2024.

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra

Motorola is creating the hype now I feel, because the moniker is still missing from today’s teaser. But an earlier Geekbench listing revealed that the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 will power the Edge 50 Ultra. Some folks are also sharing, that Motorola may launch the trio(Edge 50 Pro, Ultra, and Fusion) on the 16th of April itself. But for now, it is confirmed that Edge 50 Ultra will be showcased on the 16th of April with SD 8s Gen 3 SOC.

Previously, Android Headlines came with their own story, that revealed some of the specs. However, they speculated that the Edge 50 Series would launch on April 3rd, sadly that didn’t happen. So far, it looks like Edge 50 Ultra is confirmed to launch globally, but whether it will come to India or not is currently not available.

We also learned from the earlier reports, that the Edge 50 Ultra will house a triple camera setup with a 50MP sensor,  a 75mm Periscope lens, and 5x optical zoom. It is expected to come in three colours : Peach Fuzz and Black with a vegan leather finish, and the Beige colour named Sisal in brushed finish.

As the launch date bears, more information is expected to flow.
