Nokia’s upcoming 5G smartphone G42 5G found listed on Amazon with key specs and images
Nokia is gearing up for the launch of a new 5G smartphone in India whose launch date has been confirmed even before it confirmed the moniker. Recently we saw Nokia Mobile India teasing users in an X(formerly Twitter) post in which it asked “Are you ready to experience speed with a Nokia 5G smartphone? Stay tuned for the announcement on September 6, 2023?”
As of now, there were speculations that this could be the G42 5G smartphone from Nokia but a recent update about it partly confirms it. A new smartphone from Nokia showed up on Amazon that has yet not been launched in India. This is none other than the Nokia G42 5G smartphone that is listed on Amazon in purple color with key specs and images.
A point that needs to be mentioned here is that this is the first 5G smartphone by the company to be manufactured in India itself. And its also the first self-repairable 5G smartphone by HMD Global. This smartphone is already available in the European Market though US and UAE users are still waiting to get their hands on it.
Specs
Now coming on to the specs this smartphone comes with a 6.56-inch wide HD display that sports a 90 Hz refresh rate and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a Snapdragon 480 Plus 5G chipset paired with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. The device runs Android 13 out of the box and is committed to receiving 2 years of Android OS upgrades and 3 years of monthly security updates.
On the camera front, this smartphone has a 50 MP main camera, a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro camera. It is backed by a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 20W fast charging and offers up to 3 days of battery life. Its dimensions are 16.5 x 7.6 x 0.9 cm and weighs 194 grams.
The company has yet not announced the price for which it will be launched in India. Although it is expected to be cheaper than previous 5G smartphones the company won’t be paying any import duty on it due to local manufacturing and selling.
