The Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus has recently unveiled it’s latest OnePlus 12 smartphone in it’s home country and the company was expected to soon launch this device in the global markets too. Along with OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R was also expected to make it’s debut in the global markets. Lately, OnePlus 12R has been spotted on various certification websites too indicating at it’s imminent launch.
As per reports the devices were said to debut next month in global markets but there was no official confirmation. Well OnePlus has finally make the official announcement regarding the launch of OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R in the global markets.

The smartphones will be making their debut in global as well as Indian markets on 23rd January 2024. In India, the devices will launching at 7:30 PM IST. Also this is the first time that a OnePlus R-series device will be making it’s debut in the global markets. The poster also reveals that the upcoming models might arrive with minor differences in different regions like product dimensions and network configurations.
OnePlus 12: Specifications (Chinese variant)
The smartphone features a 6.82-inch OLED LTPO 3.0 Pro-XDR BOE X1 display that offers 2K resolution, 4500 nits peak brightness, 1600 nits peak full screen brightness 2160Hz PWM dimming, and 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC that is paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. It is equipped with an Adreno 750 GPU and runs on Android 14 OS. The device is backed by a 5400 mAh battery that supports 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
The smartphone packs up a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP Sony LYT808 camera sensor with OIS support, a 48MP IMX581 secondary camera, and a 64MP OmniVision OV64B periscope lens with OIS. On the front, it features a 32MP Sony IMX615 selfie camera.
OnePlus 12R: Specifications (Expected)
OnePlus’ 12R flagship is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, and will probably run on the Android 14 based OxygenOS 14 custom skin. The smartphone is also said to feature an AMOLED display panel with a screen size of 6.7″. The display might also have a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
For its cameras, the device may sport a triple camera unit at its rear with a 50MP OIS main camera, 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP telephoto camera. A 16MP front-facing camera is also expected on the device. Regarding the battery, the smartphone is likely to pack a 54oo mAh battery backup that supports a 100W fast charge feature.
