OnePlus 12, Realme GT 5 Pro to feature dust and water resistant chassis
OnePlus is expected to announce the OnePlus 12 by the end of the year. While Realme will launch the Realme GT 5 on Aug. 28 in China, its Pro version may launch by the end of this year or early 2024. In a new Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the key specifications of both devices.
According to the tipster, the OnePlus 12 and Realme GT 5 Pro are set to create competition within the 4K Yuan (~$550) price range. Both phones are expected to come with common features, such as a 2K display, a metallic middle frame, 50W wireless charging, an OV64B periscope camera, and dust/water resistance are available. However, the tipster is unsure about the exact IP rating.
Previous leaks by the same tipster have revealed that both phones are expected to come with identical specifications. The OnePlus 12 is said to differ in aspects, such as heat dissipation and Hasselblad camera optimisations. In addition, the OnePlus 12 is expected to have some exclusive customizations. Both devices are also expected to sport a different rear design.
It is speculated that OnePlus 12 and Realme GT 5 Pro will arrive with a curved-edge AMOLED display that offers a 2K resolution and ultra-high frequency dimming. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip will power both devices. It is likely that both phones will come in 24 GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage versions. Both devices are also expected to house a 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. It is speculated that the duo will have a new Sony IMX9-series 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS support, an ultra-wide snapper, and an OmniVision OV64B 64-megapixel periscope zoom camera with 3x optical zoom.
