OnePlus 12R Specifications Tipped: Major Upgrades when Compared to Predecessor

The Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer, OnePlus, is expected to launch the OnePlus 12R smartphone early next year, in 2024. Now, ahead of its launch, the specifications of the upcoming device has been tipped,  revealing a few major upgrades the device might have when compared to the previous OnePlus 11R smartphone.

Read about it below.

OnePlus 12R Specifications Tipped

This update comes from a tipster on the Twitter platform(@ShishirShelke1), and the first major expected upgrade is the use of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in the OnePlus 12R smartphone, instead of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset that was present in the OnePlus 11R device.

Coming to its build, the upcoming OnePlus 12R smartphone is likely also to have a metal frame, while the previous OnePlus 11R has a plastic middle frame.

The OnePlus 12R device will also be having an improvement in its brightness rate and from the previous peak brightness rate of 1450 nits that was supported on the OnePlus 11R smartphone, we can expect a 3000 nits+ brightness rate on the upcoming OnePlus 12R.

The upcoming OnePlus 12R may also be incorporating a 32MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom capability, and this will be a significant improvement from the 2MP macro camera that is offered in the OnePlus 11R device.

Finally, a slight increase in its battery capacity is also a notable upgrade. From the battery backup of 5000 mAh offered on the OnePlus 11R, the upcoming OnePlus 12R may be backed by a battery with a battery capacity of 5500 mAh.

However, do take this update with a pinch of salt as we can only confirm the specs with more future updates or with official announcements.

As per reports, the OnePlus 12R smartphone is probably going to debut early in 2024, likely in January or February, and the device may have a price tag in between Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 45,000 in the Indian market. Also, the renders of the OnePlus 12R were also shared online, and the upcoming device design-wise will remain similar to its predecessor.
