Oppo A3 and A3x officially announced with Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 Soc, Check Specs and Features

The Oppo A3x was recently launched with 5G capabilities in global markets. However, Oppo has now reintroduced the A3x along with Oppo A3 to the global market, but this time with 4G capabilities.

We recently spotted the Oppo A3x on the Google Play Console listing. The same device was also seen on Geekbench, although the CPU was unknown at the time. I speculated that a new chipset might power this 4G smartphone, and it appears I was correct. Qualcomm has recently unveiled the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 SoC globally, albeit quietly. Now, Oppo has released the A3 4G series for the global market, featuring the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 SoC.

However, according to the Google Play Console, Oppo might launch the A3x under another name, possibly as the Oppo A20. Let’s now take a closer look at what this new 4G smartphone has to offer.

Oppo A3 and A3x 4G Specs

You’ll find a decent 6.67″ LCD HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. Under the hood, the newly released Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 SoC powers the device, paired with an Adreno 610 GPU clocked at 1050MHz. Both smartphones come with ColorOS 14.0 based on Android 14 out of the box. The RAM is LPDDR4X @ 2133MHz with extra Virtual RAM, and the eMMC 5.1 storage can be expanded with a MicroSD card.

The Oppo A3 is equipped with a 50MP pixel-binning AF main sensor with a flicker sensor and a 5MP front selfie camera. The Oppo A3x features an 8MP rear camera sensor, while the front has a 5MP selfie shooter. Both devices include Turbo Torch, which increases the brightness of the rear LED flash by up to 200%.

Both phones pack a 5100 mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. In terms of connectivity, you get NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 5, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. For protection, the devices offer military-grade shock resistance and multiple liquid resistance features.

Both of these smartphones carry similar specs, the only difference is in the camera section.

Pricing and availability

Currently, the Oppo A3x is listed on the Malaysian website. According to the listing, the 4+4GB RAM* + 128GB ROM variant is priced at RM499, the 6+6GB RAM* + 128GB ROM variant at RM599, and the 4+4GB RAM + 64GB ROM variant at RM399. However, the Oppo A3 is only listed on the Oppo Global website, without pricing and availability details.
