Oppo Find X7 series confirmed to feature the one-inch Sony LYT-900 camera sensor
Earlier this month, Sony unveiled the LYT-900 camera sensor. Today, OPPO released an official confirmation that the upcoming Find X7 series will be equipped with the new Lytia camera sensor. It is speculated that forthcoming flagship phones from Xiaomi and Vivo will also feature the said camera.
For those who don’t know, the Sony LYT-900 is a 50-megapixel, one-inch camera sensor with a pixel size of 1.6μ. It can be said based on recent reports that the Find X7 Ultra and X7 Ultra Satellite Communication Version will be equipped with the LYT-900 camera sensor.
According to reports, both Ultra models will have the same camera setup. A 50-megapixel LYT-600 ultra-wide lens, a 50-megapixel IMX890 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel IMX858 periscope telephoto camera with 6x optical zoom will all be joining the OIS-enabled 50-megapixel LYT-900 primary camera.
On the other hand, the Find X6 will be equipped with a 50-megapixel LYT-808 main camera with OIS support. A 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 ultra-wide camera and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom will be available to complement it.
Reports suggest that the LYT-900 is a modified iteration of the current Sony IMX989, a one-inch camera sensor previously featured in flagship smartphones like the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and the Vivo X100 Pro+ (or Vivo X100 Ultra). The Xiaomi and Vivo flagships are expected to launch in the second quarter of 2024.
