Qualcomm confirms March 18 launch event, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 expected

Multiple reports have claimed that Qualcomm will announce new chipsets in this month. Today, the brand released the following teaser to confirm that it will hold its next launch event on March 18 in China. While the company hasn’t confirmed what will be revealed through the event, the rumour mill believes that the company will announce the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipsets.

Readers should note that Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 are tentative names. Therefore, their final monikers are likely to be different. Also, it is still unclear whether the brand will announce one or two chipsets.

Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3

According to reports, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is equipped with 1 x Cortex-X4 that clocks at 2.9GHz, 3 x Cortex-A520 that operates at 1.9GHz, and 4 x Cortex-A720 that functions at 2.6GHz. It is said to feature the Adreno 732 GPU.

According to reports, the OnePlus Ace 3V, which is expected to debut this month, could be the first phone to feature the said chipset. The Realme GT Neo 6 SE and Redmi Note 13 Turbo are both expected to feature the same chip.

Snapdragon 8s Gen 3

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is likely to include 1 x Cortex-X4 that runs at 3.04GHz, 3 x Cortex-A520 that clocks at 2.61GHz, and 4 x Cortex-A720 that operates at 1.84GHz. For graphics, the chip is said to offer an Adreno 735 GPU. Reports have suggested that upcoming devices, such as the Realme GT Neo 6, Xiaomi Civi 4, Vivo Pad 3, and iQOO Neo 9 Racing Edition, will all feature the new chip.
