Realme 12+ and Alleged Realme 12 Spotted on BIS; Realme 12+ Details Revealed Via FCC

The Chinese consumer electronics maker, Realme, has already confirmed the launch of its 12 Pro series, while the release dates of the non-pro model are yet to be announced. However, the Realme 12+ and the Realme 12 devices, the expected non-pro models, have appeared on multiple certification platforms pointing that their debut may not be far.

The two upcoming smartphones have now made it to the BIS certification platform of India. To add, few details of the 12+ model have also been revealed through the FCC database.

Realme 12+ and Alleged Realme 12 – BIS Certification

The Realme 12+ smartphone global variant has been spotted on the BIS database with the model number – RMX3867, whereas the alleged Realme 12 bears the model number – RMX3868. Both these devices have received grant/inclusion to the BIS database as of on the 24th of January 2024, and the Indian launch of the two have now been confirmed.

Coming to the FCC details of the Realme 12+, the schematic image, dimensions, and battery capacity of this device have been revealed.

Speaking of the schematic image, it points that the device has a length of 162.9 mm and a width of 75.5 mm. We can also identify three camera units at the rear within the circular camera module, of which one is likely to be a periscope telephoto lens. There is also a dual tone LED flash. At the right side panel there is the volume rocker and power button. Design-wise, the 12+ looks similar to the 12 Pro series devices, and moreover it aligns with the image on the MIIT database (12+ Chinese variant model number – “3866”).

Regarding the battery capacity, the device will be packing a 5000 mAh Li-ion polymer battery (rated 4880 mAh). It has also been mentioned that the smartphone will be having the Realme UI 5.0, probably based on the Android 14 OS, out of the box.

Apart from the BIS, FCC, and MIIT certifications, Realme’s 12+ device has also been certified by the TDRA, NBTC, SIRIM, and SDPPI authorities too.

The Realme 12 Pro series which is said to comprise of the 12 Pro, 12 Pro+, and 12 Pro Max smartphones will launch on the 29th of January 2024 this month in India and other global markets. All the certifications that the non-pro models have received as mentioned suggest the launch of the 12 and 12+ devices also to be near as well.
