Realme GT 5 Pro’s first teaser released, launch imminent

In August, Realme unveiled the Realme GT 5 featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in China. There have been reports that the brand is working on a Pro version of the device, which will have the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip onboard. There has been uncertainty about whether the Realme GT 5 Pro will debut this year or in 2024. However, now that the brand has rolled out the first teaser of the Pro model today, it appears that it will break cover in November or December this year.

The rumour mill has already leaked a lot of information about the Realme GT 5 Pro. Starting from the front, it will have a 6.82-inch BOE-supplied OLED curved-edge display that will offer a 2K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered device may ship with up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It is expected to pack a 5,400mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. For an enhanced gaming experience, the device is also expected to feature a massive 10,000mm² VC heat dissipation system.

The Realme GT 5 Pro will be equipped with a 16-megapixel or a 32-megapixel camera for shooting selfies. Its rear-facing round camera setup will have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX966 primary camera with OIS support and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Previous leaks claimed that the GT 5 Pro will also have a periscope telephoto camera, but a recent leak by tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that it may feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

The GT 5 Pro will run on Android 14 with a layer of Realme UI 5 on top. It is also expected to feature an IP-certified chassis. It is speculated to be priced at around 4,000 Yuan ($550) in China.
