Redmi 12 receives BIS, NBTC certifications, launch seems imminent

Redmi is gearing up to launch the Redmi A2 series of smartphones in India. It appears that the company may unveil the Redmi 12 soon after the Redmi A2 lineup. The reason behind it is that it has been approved by the country’s Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Additionally, the NBTC authority in Thailand has also certified it.

Last month, the Redmi 12 was spotted in the IMEI database as well as on certification platforms, such as the FCC and Europe’s EEC. These listings revealed that the model numbers 23053RN02L and 23053RN02Y are associated with the Redmi 12.

Earlier this month, the Redmi 12 appeared with model number 23053RN02A in certification platforms, such as Indonesia’s TKDN and Singapore’s IMDA. It has also been spotted with all these model numbers at TUV certification.

The other certifications have so far revealed that the Redmi 12 is a 4G LTE device featuring a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging support. It will run on MIUI 14-based Android 13 OS. The rest of its specifications are yet to be revealed. In all likelihood, the Redmi 12 may debut by the end of this month or in June.
