Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has officially unveiled its all-new mid-range device- Redmi A5, in the Indian market today. The smartphone boosts features like the segment’s largest and smoothest display, 8.2mm sleek body, 32MP AI dual camera, and more.
Redmi A5: Specifications
The smartphone features a 6.88-inch Dot Drop display that offers 1650×720 screen resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, up to 240Hz touch sampling rate, 600 nits HBM brightness, and comes with multiple certifications- TUV low blue light, TUV flicker-free, and TUV Circadian friendly. It is powered by an Unisoc T7250 octa-core processor that arrives with a clock speed up to 1.8GHz. The chipset is paired with 3/4GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB internal storage.
It runs on Android 15 OS and will receive 2 Android OS updates and 4 years of security patch updates. The device packs up 32MP AI Dual camera and an 8MP front camera. It is backed by a 5200 mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging. Other features include- side fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi, AI face unlock, USB Type-C port, IP52 rating, 4GB extended RAM (for 4GB variant), hydro touch, and 150% volume boost. It measures 171.7×77.80×8.2mm and weighs 193g.

It comes in Jaisalmer gold, Pondicherry blue, and Just black color options. The 3/64GB variant is priced at Rs 6,499, and the 4/128GB variant is priced at Rs 7,499. The sale starts tomorrow via mi.com and Flipkart.
