Redmi K70 series may lack support for wireless charging

Speculations are rife that the Redmi K70 series will be announced by the end of this year in China. It is also being said that the Redmi K70 and K70 Pro will arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, respectively. In a new leak, tipster Digital Chat Station has seemingly shared key information about the K70 lineup. The leaks suggest that the series will lack a feature that was made available on the Redmi K60 series.

The leak suggests that the prototype units of the Redmi K70 and K70 Pro are equipped with a flat display with narrow bezels and support a 2K resolution. Both devices appear to be equipped with a metallic middle frame, and there has been a noticeable improvement in the texture of their glass rear panels.

The Redmi K70 series is expected to offer an improved photography experience, despite some shortcomings with its telephoto camera. The leak also states that it will lack support for wireless charging.

To recall, the Redmi K60 lacked support for wireless charging, but the Redmi K60 Pro offered 30W wireless charging. Currently, it is unclear why the company may have decided to remove the wireless charging feature from the K70 Pro.

In related news, Redmi is currently gearing up for the launch of the Redmi K70 series, which is set to take place on Sept. 22 in China. The lineup will have three devices, such as the Redmi Note 13, Note 13 Pro, and Note 13 Pro+. The Pro models are powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and Dimensity 7200-Ultra chipsets, respectively. At present, there is no information that powers Note 13.
