Redmi Pad 2 bags 3C certification, launch imminent
Reports have revealed that Redmi is working on the Redmi Pad 2, a mid-range tablet. It appears that the company could be launching it soon in the global market. In the latest development, Pad 2 has been spotted in the database of the 3C certification platform in China. This indicates that the tablet could be launched soon in China.
The model numbers of the Redmi Pad 2’s global and Chinese editions are 23073RPBFG and 23073RPBFC, respectively. The global version has been approved by certification platforms in Singapore, Indonesia and Europe. It was spotted with model number 20373RPBFL in the FCC’s database. It has also appeared in the databases of TUV Rheinland, and Geekbench. Now, the Chinese variant of the device has been spotted at 3C.
The 3C certification reveals that the Redmi Pad 2 will ship with an MDY-09-EK / ER charger that supports up to 18W charging. The MDY-09-EM charger, which is also mentioned in the listing, supports up to 22.5W fast charging. So, it appears that even if the tablet ships with a 22.5W charger, the Redmi Pad 2 may support only 18W charging like its predecessor, the Redmi Pad.
