As per reliable sources, Samsung Galaxy S22 was hacked not once but twice in the PwnOwn hacking contest conducted in Toronto, Canada. This incident occurred on the very first day of this competition. Two prominent contestants who managed to hack the Samsung Galaxy S22 are STAR Labs as well as Chim.
STAR Labs won $ 50000 for hacking as they hacked it first. They also won 5 Master of Pwn points. Whereas, Chim won $ 25000 for hacking. They were able to do so in the second round of the contest. They won 5 Master of Pwn points too. Zero Day Initiative also posted about this on their official Twitter handle. They wrote a post containing basic details about the same.
This hacking contest has been running successfully for the past decade. This time, they held a consumer-focused hacking contest. The teams who participated in this hacking contest were given multiple targets. These targets were segregated into multiple categories. The targets also included brand Samsung’s flagship smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S22 phone. The contest was conducted in Toronto, Canada.
