Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 5G, Wi-Fi only variants receive Bluetooth certification, early 2024 launch expected

In August 2022, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro for the global market. It was revealed last month that the South Korean tech giant has started developing firmware for the Galaxy Tab Active 5 bearing model numbers SM-X300 and SM-X306B / SM-X308B for the Wi-Fi and 5G variants, respectively. Now, several variants of the Galaxy Tab Active 5 have received approval from the Bluetooth SIG authority, indicating its launch may not be far away.

The above screengrab shows that the Galaxy Tab Active 5 5G’s different country variants, such as SM-X306B, SM-X306N, SM-X308B, and SM-X308U, have been certified by the Bluetooth SIG. In addition, the SM-X300, which is the Wi-Fi-only version, has also bagged Bluetooth SIG certification. In terms of specs, the certification only confirms support for Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and nothing else.

To recall, the removable battery of the Galaxy Tab Active 5 5G received approval from South Korea’s Safety Korea certification platform in November. The KTL certification revealed that all the above-mentioned variants of the device will pack a 4,900mAh battery. In addition, the 5G variant has been previously seen at the UAE’s TDRA certification, whereas the Wi-Fi-only variant has been spotted at Singapore’s IMDA certification.

Being an “Active”-branded model, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 is expected to sport a rugged design. However, it is unclear whether the brand has any plans to launch the “Pro” version of the Galaxy Tab Active 5. The device has also been previously spotted at the FCC certification, which revealed that the device will arrive with 128 GB of built-in storage, S Pen support, a 15W charger, and a microSD card slot.

The Galaxy Tab Active 5 5G variant bearing the SM-X306B was spotted on Geekbench. It revealed that the device has an Exynos 1380 chipset, 6 GB of RAM, and Android 14.
