Sony Xperia 5 V receives 3C certification, launch imminent
Upcoming Sony Xperia 5 V has been approved by the 3C authority of China. Last month, the smartphone was spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking site. Now that the device has been certified by the 3C regulatory, it appears that it will not take too long for it go official. In all likelihood, the flagship phone may debut in May in different markets.
The Xperia 5 V has been spotted with model number XQ-DQ72 in 3C’s database. The device was seen with the same model number on Geekbench last month.
The 3C certification usually gives a hint about the charging capabilities of a phone. However, the 3C listing of the Xperia 5 V reveals that it will ship without a charger. To recall, last year’s Xperia 5 IV offered 30W wired charging. It remains to be seen whether the Xperia 5 V supports the same charging speeds.
The Xperia 5 V was spotted with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset on Geekbench. The listing also revealed that the device is equipped with 16 GB of RAM and Android 13 OS.
A leaked image that surfaced in February revealed that the rear-facing triple camera unit of the Xperia 5 V will include a periscope zoom camera. Some reports have claimed that the device may support up to 9x optical zoom. Unfortunately, there is no information available on the other specifications of the device.
