Upcoming Jio Phones Appears on the BIS Indian Certification Website
India’s leading telecommunications company and the subsidiary of Jio Platforms, Reliance Jio might be planning to launch two new mobile phones in the Indian market, as the upcoming devices have been spotted on the BIS certification website of India.

Two New Jio Phones Receive BIS Certification
The new update comes from a tipster on the Twitter Platform, Mukul Sharma, who has spotted two Jio devices with model numbers – JBV161W1 and JBV162W1, on the BIS certification platform. From its listing, it is confirmed that the devices are mobile phones, however, nothing much has been revealed about the two devices apart from these pieces of information.

Jio introduced its Bharat Phone in the country early last month in July 2023, and the news about the two upcoming devices follows this recent launch.

Jio’s already-launched Bharat Phone was launched aligning with the company’s vision of a “2G-MUKT BHARAT” and tries to make 4G network connectivity available to all, at a very low price.
The Bharat Phone features a 1.77″ QGVA TFT display screen and comes pre-installed with applications like JioCinema, JioSaavn, and JioPay. The device also allows its users to make UPI payments via JioPay. It should also be noted that the device is locked with only Jio SIM card support and no other SIM cards can be used in it.
Other features include a 0.3MP rear camera, torch, FM radio, and a 3.55mm audio jack. The device is also backed by a 1000 mAh battery, ensuring a decent battery life for its users. A Rs. 123 plan that will be valid for 28 days and a Rs. 1,234 annual plan which offers a total of 168GB of data, was also introduced for the device.
