Vivo has announced yet another Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 smartphone Y38 5G in Taiwan

Vivo has now launched, or rather announced, yet another smartphone equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC called Y38 5G. Yesterday, we informed you about the Vivo V30 SE, which was announced in Peru and also comes with the same processor. However, the design and some of the specs of the Vivo Y38 5G are different compared to the V30 SE. But if you look closely, it resembles much more to the Y200i 5G smartphone in terms of design and specs, which was released in China recently.

Vivo Y38 5G Specs

Starting with the screen size is a 6.68″ LCD HD+ display that offers a pixel density of 264ppi and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Vivo Y38 is powered by Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 paired with Adreno 613 GPU. You will get FuntouchOS14 based on Android 14 out of the box. In terms of RAM, you will see 8GB of LPDDR4X and has a storage of 256GB based on UFS2.2. But you can also extend the storage memory to 1TB with the help of a MicroSD memory card. It only weighs about 199g and comes with a Side fingerprint sensor. It does come with limited dust and water spray protection as it is IP54 certified.

Vivo Y38 5G has a dual rear camera setup of 50MP AF and a 2MP blur lens with LED flash support. The front selfie shooter comes with an 8MP camera.

It packs a 6,000 mAh battery and supports 44W flash charging. In terms of connectivity, you will get Wi-Fi 5, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C, USB 2.0, VoLTE, and VoWi-Fi. You will also get a charger with this smartphone.

Pricing and availability

Vivo has announced it in two color options: Ocean Blue and Dark Green Black and is listed on its Taiwan website. So far, it’s just an announcement, but we can soon expect the pricing to be revealed.
