Vivo Postpones the Launch of the Y100 5G Smartphone for the Chinese Market
The Chinese smartphone maker, Vivo, was supposed to release its Y100 5G smartphone in the Chinese market today on the 27th of October 2023, but for some reason, the brand has postponed the product launch conference.

Vivo Y100 5G New Product Launch Conference Postponed
Vivo via its official Weibo handle has announced that the scheduled product launch conference which was to unveil the Y100 5G in China has been postponed. The brand has also added that once the next launch date is fixed, it will be shared as soon as it is possible.
Vivo has also shared some teaser images recently, which points to some of the unique specifications of the Y100 5G smartphone, and as per what has been shared, this upcoming device will be the thinnest(7.49mm) and lightest 5000 mAh smartphone launched till now by the brand.
To add, the device will also come with a 4-year battery replacement plan and will be having a rock cushioning structure that will protect it from accidental falls. Moreover, the device will also be IP54 dust and water proof.
The latest smartphone has also been confirmed to sport a 64MP dual camera unit at its rear, with OIS support, along with a 2MP additional camera, and is to have camera features such as 2x golden portrait focal length, a flagship super moon mode, and a super night scene algorithm.
From its listing on the China telecom website, most of its other specifications were also revealed. As previously confirmed from its Geekbench listing, the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 675 chipset and will be integrated with the Adreno 619 GPU. It will also have the Android 13 operating system out of the box. The device will also have four storage variants – 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB.
The upcoming Y100 5G will also be featuring a 6.78″ large display panel having a FHD+ resolution and is to offer a front-facing camera of 8MP for selfies. Speaking of its dimensions, it will measure 164.42 × 74.92 × 7.49 mm and will weigh 183 grams. The device will also be available in three color choices – Starry Night Black, Glass Light Blue, and Glazed Cloud Green.
As per the listing on China Telecom, the 8GB/128GB base model will be priced at CNY 1,599, whereas the high-end 12GB/512GB model is going to have a price tag of CNY 2,199. The 8GB/256GB and the 12GB/256GB models will be made available for CNY 1,799 and CNY 1,999, respectively.
