Vivo Y300 Pro Launched in China, Bringing a Fresh Look to the Y Series Smartphones

Vivo Y300 Pro has certainly generated some buzz with its fresh design in the Y series of smartphones. With this launch, it seems that Vivo is making an effort to redefine the appearance of its Y series devices. To be honest, many people felt that the same design had been repeated across the Y series. Now that it’s launched, let’s look into what powers this smartphone.

Vivo Y300 Pro Specs

Vivo Y300 Pro features a 6.77″ Curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, capable of producing 1.07 billion colors and boasting a 92.28% screen-to-body ratio. It includes an in-display fingerprint sensor alongside a front face unlock feature. The phone has undergone extensive testing, earning the SGS five-star drop resistance certification, along with an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC paired with the Adreno 710 GPU. It runs on OriginOS 14, based on Android 14, though there’s no information provided on the number of OS or security patch updates it will receive. The Vivo Y300 Pro offers up to 8GB of LPDDR4X Dual Channel RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

Its design is similar to that of the Vivo X100, particularly the rear camera layout. In terms of dimensions, it measures 163.4mm x 76.4mm x 7.69mm and weighs around 193.6g/194.6g, largely due to its plastic middle frame.

The Vivo Y300 Pro is equipped with a 6,500mAh Blue Ocean battery that supports 80W fast charging, ensuring quick recharges and long battery life. On the rear, it features a dual-camera setup with a 50MP main camera utilizing the Sony LYT-600 sensor, accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor and an Aura light for enhanced photography. For selfies, the phone includes a 32MP front-facing camera.

Additionally, this smartphone comes with Vivo’s proprietary BlueLM AI features, which offer support for Blue Heart Xiao V, Jovi suggestions, Jovi scan, Jovi input method, smart car, smart life, and various other smart functions.

In terms of connectivity, the Vivo Y300 Pro includes dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 (though it’s unclear why Vivo chose this version), and a USB Type-C port.
