Xiaomi has been launching its MIX Fold-branded foldable phones since 2021, but it hasn’t launched a vertically foldable phone with a form factor like the Galaxy Z Flip 5. It was reported in June by GSMChina that a Xiaomi device with model number 2311BPN23C that surfaced in the IMEI database could be Xiaomi’s first flip phone with a foldable screen. Now, the same device has been spotted on another IMEI database website. The listing has revealed that the 2311BPN23C device will have the Xiaomi MIX Flip marketing name.
The listing only confirms the name of the device and has no information about its specifications. Previous reports have revealed that its internal codename is N7. In June, tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that the MIX Flip would have an extremely light and thin design.
There have been reports that the device will be announced in 2024, but the “2311” digits in the model number is a good hint that it may go official along with the Xiaomi 14 series this year in China. DCS has previously revealed that the device will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8-series chip and will be priced at around 5,000 Yuan (~$658).
As per another tipster, the Xiaomi MIX Flip will be released in November, and it will not be released outside China. However, he also said that the device may debut with the Xiaomi 14 series or with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which is expected to break in the first quarter of 2024.
The tipster revealed that the Xiaomi MIX Flip will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a telephoto camera with 3x zoom. What’s shown in the schematic above could be the alleged design of the MIX Flip.
