Xiaomi MIX Flip with thin, light design could be in works, here’s when it is expected to debut
Most of the mainstream smartphone brands, such as Samsung, Motorola, Huawei, Vivo, and OPPO, have launched flip-style foldable display phones in China. It appears that Xiaomi may also be working on such a product. In a new Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station has seemingly shared some initial details about the device.
Without mentioning the name of the device, DCS said that an upcoming vertically foldable phone is in the works. He added that the device is extremely light and thin. In the comments section of the Weibo post, he revealed that the device is expected to launch in 2024 at the earliest.
Currently, there is a lack of information regarding the specifications of the device. Additionally, it remains unclear whether the device will be named the Xiaomi MIX Flip or if it will carry the Civi branding.
In related news, recent reports have revealed that Xiaomi may announce the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 in the third quarter of this year in China. To be precise, it may break cover in August.
The MIX Fold 3 is expected to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor. In addition, the foldable phone is expected to arrive with some features like an under-display camera, a periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and 50W wireless charging that were not available on the predecessor model. At present, there is no telling whether the device will be released in the global market.
