Xiaomi’s new MDY-16-EL power brick receives 3C certification, could be for Xiaomi 14 Ultra

Xiaomi’s new power brick with model number MDY-16-EL has been approved by China’s 3C certification platform. Chinese tipsters are of the view that Xiaomi will be made available with a charger arriving in 2024.

As per the certification, the new MDY-16-EL charger will support up to 100W charging. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, this charger is meant for Xiaomi’s flagship phone coming in 2024.

The upcoming Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro have already been approved by the 3C authority in China. Their certifications have revealed that these devices will support 90W and 120W fast charging, respectively. The Redmi K70 has also been spotted with a 90W charger in 3C’s database. While the K70 Pro hasn’t appeared at 3C, it is said to support 120W charging.

Hence, it appears that the new MDY-16-EL charger could be for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which is expected to launch next year. It is likely that the flagship phone will come with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra with model numbers 23127PN0CC (Chinese variant) and 23127PN0CG (global variant) has already emerged in the IMEI database. Now that its alleged charger has been approved by the 3C authority, it is likely that it will also receive 3C certification in the coming weeks.

As per reports, Xiaomi will announce the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro on Oct. 27 in China. As far as the 14 Ultra is concerned, it may break cover in the first quarter of 2024.
