Nokia is getting ready for Android 12 update for Nokia G21 ; check out more

The Nokia T20 may soon receive the significant OS upgrade as well, given that the update for the Unisoc T606 is now available.

The G11 and G21 of the Nokia G series smartphones have not yet gotten the Android 12 updates. That isn’t the case anymore, though, as the Nokia G21 is already receiving the anticipated Android 12 update.
Only a small number of people in a few countries were able to upgrade their Nokia G21 phones. Despite reports of the update dating back to the beginning of the month. This shows that HMD Global conducted a test before making Android 12 available to everyone.

Countries that available this update

The Android 12 upgrade is currently accessible in a number of nations. Including China, Germany, Malaysia, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, and the UAE. According to accounts from several Nokia G21 users. Since this is a staged roll-out, the list may not be comprehensive. Therefore, HMD Global is probably distributing the update in additional nations in stages.

Thanks to a screenshot shared by a German Nokia G21 user, we know this is a sizable update that measures in at about 2.3GB. The September security patch was also included. This is wonderful news given that many Nokia G21 devices haven’t had a security update since February or March.

The bad news is that the change appears to significantly lessen the user experience. After updating to Android 12, several G21 owners claim their devices have become “unstable and unreliable.” Some people have also reported problems with Adobe Scan and Spotify, and the battery life is significantly lower.

However, if you get the update, you should still update to Android 12. All of these issues will probably be fixed by HMD Global in the next software upgrades.

Although HMD Global hasn’t provided any information on Android 13, Android 12 would be the Nokia G21’s first significant OS update.

The monthly security patches are also wonderful to see. Even if the major OS upgrades are what we should be paying the most attention to. For the Nokia X10 (59.66 MB), Nokia 5.4 (49.65), and Nokia 8.3 5G, the October 2022 patch is now available (52.52 MB). Updates have appeared around the world, so check your device and safeguard it.
