Samsung partners with Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm and Meta for it’s upcoming headset

At the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event, Samsung revealed that it will be collaborating with Google and Qualcomm to develop a new XR headset. The company has not revealed the name of this upcoming headset. Also, the company said that it will be taking a cautious approach while making a comeback in this segment.

This partnership will surely be bringing together big tech companies for a single project. It is rumored that the Samsung XR Headset will work similarly to the Meta Quest Pro.

Samsung’s XR headset will be a VR device with AR powered by video passthrough. It is expected that as Samsung revealed this headset at the Unpacked event held in February, similarly the company might reveal something about the launch of this headset in the next Unpacked event which is expected to be held on 26 July in Seoul.

At Google I/O, the company confirmed that the headset will run on Android while the partnership with Qualcomm confirms that the upcoming headset will be powered by a Qualcomm chip.
