Samsung’s CES 2025 Preview: AI Home Screens Transform Kitchen and Laundry Appliances
Samsung Electronics is taking a bold step toward its “Screens Everywhere” vision by integrating smart displays across its home appliance lineup, as announced ahead of CES 2025. The company is introducing new screen sizes and expanding its AI Home technology to more products, making the smart home experience more accessible and intuitive.
“We have been leading the development of screen appliances to elevate our consumers’ experiences with innovative features and functionalities,” said Jeong Seung Moon, EVP and Head of the R&D Team for Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics. “Along with those efforts towards enhancing usability, we are expanding consumer options by developing screens of different sizes and products that effectively incorporate them.”
In the kitchen, Samsung is introducing a new Bespoke Refrigerator featuring a 9-inch AI Home screen, complementing its existing lineup of 21.5-inch and 32-inch Family Hub models. The new compact screen doesn’t compromise on functionality – it offers comprehensive smart home control through an updated Map View, allowing users to manage connected devices like air conditioners and robot vacuums directly from the refrigerator. The screen also serves as a hub for controlling SmartThings-compatible devices, including lights and smart plugs.
The company is also expanding its screen offerings in the laundry category. The 7-inch AI Home screen, previously featured in the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, will now be available in the new Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer set. Some markets will receive a more compact 4.3-inch screen version of the Laundry Combo, demonstrating Samsung’s commitment to meeting diverse consumer needs.
In a significant upgrade for North American customers, the Bespoke Wall Oven now features a 7-inch AI Home screen, transformed through an over-the-network Smart Forward update. This upgrade, which earned recognition at the CES 2025 Innovation Awards, enhances the oven’s capabilities with improved recipe recommendations and new features like ‘Customized Cook.’ The system can now recognize ingredients and suggest recipes from an expanded menu of 80 options, allowing users to save up to 30 of their frequently used recipes starting March 2025.
All AI Home screens support voice control through Bixby and display essential information about appliance operations, from internal temperatures to cycle status. The screens also offer entertainment features through internet connectivity, transforming everyday appliances into multifunctional smart home devices.
Samsung’s expanded screen integration represents a significant step toward creating more connected and convenient homes, with AI Home serving as the central nervous system of this smart ecosystem.
