Apple Watch Pride Edition Sport Band and iOS wallpaper, watch face unveiled for this year
Apple has been expressing its stand and support for the LGBTQ+ community since 2016 by introducing Apple Watch Pride Edition. This year it has unveiled the new Pride Edition Sport Band for $49 that will be available for buyers from 24 May.
Apple has also unveiled a new watch face and a wallpaper that syncs with the colour of the band and will be available from next week for the users. This news has come out from the Apple Press release in which it mentioned “Apple supports and brings awareness to LGBTQ+ advocacy organisations that are working to bring about positive change, including Equality Federation Institute, an advocacy accelerator that is building a network of state-based LGBTQ+ advocacy organisations in the U.S., and GLSEN, an education organisation working to end discrimination, harassment, and bullying based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression”.
The rainbow colour reflects the beauty and strength of the LGBTQ+ community. In addition to rainbow colours, it also comes with black and brown colour which reflects the Latin communities and those who have passed away from or are living with HIV/AIDS. The light blue and Pink colours represent transgender and nonbinary individuals.
The colour has been designed in a geometric shape on a white base. It is designed in such a way that no two bands show the same pattern reflecting their individuality. The new iOS wallpaper is also second to none which looks so vibrant and dynamically moves when the user unlocks their iPhone.
Price and availability
The Pride Edition Sport Band will be available on the official website on May 23 and May 24 for the Apple store for $49 (Rs 4,500). This special edition band is available in 41mm and 45mm sizes. Users who are looking ahead to grab this need to know that this band is only compatible with Apple Watch Series 3 and later. The new Pride Celebration watch face and iPhone wallpaper require watchOS 9.5 and iOS 16.5.
