Sony has officially announced that the company will be conducting an Alpha Special Event this month, and while there hasn’t been any confirmation regarding what will be announced, it is hinted that a new camera and a lens will be introduced at the event.

Here’s more about it.

Sony Alpha Special Event – 7th November

The Alpha Special Event which is scheduled to be conducted in three days, on the 7th of November 2023, will be live-streamed via Sony’s official YouTube channel and will also be simulcasted on Alpha Universe, at 9:00 EST, 14:00 GMT, and 23:00 JST. In India, Sony fans will be able to witness the launch of the new products on the same day at 7:30 PM IST.

As mentioned above, an exact detail regarding what will be or what all will be announced has not yet been shared by the brand, but from what has been speculated, Sony Alpha Rumors points out that the Sony A9 III camera and the Sony 300 mm f/2.8 GM lens will be introduced. Along with this, Sony has already suggested a new firmware update that is coming for its A1 camera, and there is a great chance that it might be announced at the event.

About the upcoming Sony products, Sony announced the development of the 300 mm f/2.8 GM lens back in Spring, but nothing about its detailed specifications or pricing has been revealed. However, from what is now available, a few of the expected specifications of the A9 III camera are known.

Sony’s A9 III camera is said to be the world’s best sports and wildlife full-frame photographer camera, which will also be very good at tracking moving objects. Other expected specifications include a new stack sensor (probably with increased resolution), the world’s fastest autofocus system, the world’s fastest frame rate (likely with a very large buffer), and new AI features. We can also expect a price point of around $4,000.
