Sony launches new addition to the Alpha C Series cameras, the Sony Alpha 7 C II and Sony Alpha 7C R, along with FE 16-35 mm F 2.8 GM II lens
We earlier informed you that Sony would launch two new cameras for their Sony Alpha series cameras on 29 August 2023. These two cameras, the Sony Alpha 7C II and Sony Alpha 7C R, were launched on Tuesday. Along with it, Sony has launched an FE 16-35 mm F 2.8 GM II lens. The prices of the cameras have not been announced yet and are listed to be available soon on Sony’s official website.
Highlights of the Sony Alpha 7C II, Sony Alpha 7C R, and FE 16-35 mm F 2.8 GM II lens are as follows.
Sony Alpha 7C II
The Sony Alpha 7C II is a 33 MP full-frame camera, which features a back-illuminated Exmor RTM CMOS image sensor. It further functions on the BIONZ XR processing engine.
It is capable of shooting at 4K 60p and S-Log 3.
The Sony Alpha 7C II has an ISO range of 100 – 51200, which is expandable to up to ISO 50 – 204800.
It has a 7.5 cm (3.0 – type) type TFT monitor.
Sony Alpha 7C R
The Sony Alpha 7C R is a 61 MP full-frame camera, which features a back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor. It also features an advanced BIONZ XR processing engine, which boosts the overall speed by up to 8 times.
It is capable of shooting 4K output up to 60p/50p.
The Sony Alpha 7C II has an ISO range of 100 – 32000, which is expandable to up to ISO 50 – 102400.
It has a 7.5 cm (3.0 – type) type TFT monitor.
FE 16-35 mm F 2.8 GM II lens
The premium G master series wide-angle zoom lens has XA and ED glass elements, which present high resolution in the entire image area.
The lens has incorporated Nano AR Coating II, which suppresses flare and ghosting.
It is capable of seamless response due to the presence of four XD Linear Motors.
Iris lock, focus hold buttons, etc. are some additional features.
