These Sony Xperia phones to receive Android 13 upgrade soon
The Sony Xperia 1 IV and Sony Xperia 5 IV, the company’s most current flagship devices, will soon receive a stable, official Android 13 upgrade, according to a recent announcement from Sony.
This demonstrates how successfully the company has used timely Android updates.
Sony was rather tight-lipped about details like the size of the update and which countries will get it first.
There is no information about the firmware size, a new security patch, or other software updates, in addition to the known features of Android 13.
While no Xperia 1 IV or Xperia 5 IV customers have publicly acknowledged that their Android 13 rollouts are currently underway on Twitter, Reddit, or any other online communities or social media platforms, the aforementioned over-the-air goodie deliveries should start in the coming days or even hours.
Go to the Settings tab on your Sony Xperia 1 IV or Xperia 5 IV to check if you have the update for the android 13. The phones are still eligible for two more major OS upgrades after this, which is the second to the final one they can get. While security updates will continue to be issued to phones through 2025, Android 14 is likely to be their final release.
The Sony Xperia 5 IV costs Rs. 79,400 and the Sony Xperia 1 IV costs Rs. 123,690.
