US iPhone users to now use eSIM, iPhone 14 does not have any SIM card tray
On September 7, Apple unveiled the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max at its Far Out 2022 event. It has many new features this time around. The iPhones even have a cool display cutout called Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro.
The new Apple iPhone 14 series will be sold without physical SIM trays, but only in the United States. Apple users will be able to use two eSIMs simultaneously and even store more. The term eSIM refers to digital/electronic SIM cards. This means that the smartphone can be configured remotely, and there is no need to visit a store to obtain a physical SIM card which will make it easier for users to switch networks.
Users will be able to use Bluetooth to transfer their eSIM between iPhones. Many users in the United States already use eSIM, and iPhones have supported them since 2018.
If a user is on a major US cell phone network — AT&T, Verizon, or even T-Mobile — they do not need a physical SIM tray because it will not have a significant impact on them. They can quickly obtain an eSIM from any of the networks.
