Valve Introduces its Steam Deck OLED Models: Price Starting at $549

The American game developer, Valve, has introduced new OLED models for its Steam Deck handheld gaming device. Compared to the previous LCD models, the new OLED models feature high dynamic range screens, longer-lasting batteries, faster download speed, and many more.

Valve Steam Deck OLED Models Introduced

There are two new OLED models, one with 512GB storage and the other with 1TB storage, and both the models come with HDR OLED displays with a screen size of 7.4″ and a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Regarding the 1TB model, its display also has a premium anti-glare etched glass on it.

The Steam Deck OLED models also have 6nm APUs, with Wi-Fi 6E connectivity support. They are also backed by a 50Whr battery, which will be capable of offering a battery life of three to twelve hours, depending on the content. A 45W charging adapter with a 2.5 meter-long cable will also be provided with the OLED models.

To add, a carry case will be provided as well, along with the Steam profile bundle. With the 1TB OLED model, customers will also be receiving an exclusive startup movie and an exclusive virtual keyboard theme.

As mentioned, when the new OLED models are compared with the previous LCD variants, a better HDR OLED display is offered. The battery life has also improved by 30-50%. With the Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, faster download speed, and with improved thermals, better performance, can also be enjoyed. In terms of weight, the new models are 5% comparatively lighter.

About the price and availability, the 512GB and 1TB storage variants will be priced at $549 and $649, respectively. The OLED models will be made available on the 16th of November 2023, and the 1TB variant will also have a limited edition colorway too.
