AMD Z2 Extreme Revealed To Arrive In Early 2025
AMD’s current Z1 Extreme processor brings high performance and versatility to handheld gaming consoles so that users can enjoy their gaming experience. It currently powers consoles like ROG Ally X and Legion Go. Well AMD has now revealed officially at the IFA 2024 event that they are now working on the successor of this chip- AMD Z2 Extreme.
According to one of AMD representatives, “So, we’ve our Z1 Extreme and Z1 in the market today, right? Z2 is in the works. We’re working with a number of partners across the OEM ecosystem on that market, and it will be coming to market probably in the early part of 2025. ”
Other than the launch timeline, AMD has not revealed anything specific related to this upcoming chip. AMD Z2 Extreme is expected to arrive with some upgrades and improvements over its predecessor that will improve the next generation of PC gaming consoles.
As per reports since AMD has recently launched Ryzen AI 3000 series chips with Zen 5 cores, RDNA 3.5 integrated GPUs, and an XDNA 2 AI Engine, AMD Z2 Extreme might arrive with similar features though nothing is sure for now.
