Microsoft has always been innovating new ideas and features in the gaming field in order to enhance the experience of players. Yesterday, Microsoft celebrated its 50th Anniversary, and on this occasion, the company is honoring game-changing memories and the games played by users over five decades.
In order to celebrate this occasion, Microsoft has introduced a new 50th Anniversary Badge that you can add to your Xbox profile.
It’s Microsoft’s 50th anniversary, that’s decades of changing the game.
Celebrate by adding a new badge to your Xbox profile, and it starts by being an Xbox Insider.

Here’s how to claim your badge?
- You must join or be an existing member of the Xbox Insider Program
- Launch the Xbox Insider Hub on console or PC (if you don’t already have the app, search for it in the store)
- Select Previews on the left navigation menu
- Click 50th Anniversary Bade under the Available section
- Join the preview
Badges may take 1-2 days to appear on your profile after joining the preview. Other than this 50th Anniversary Badge, the company has also introduced 50th Anniversary Dynamic Background, nostalgic profile themes including three new gamerpics featuring an old Windows cursor, a floppy disc, and Clippy, while there isa 50th Anniversary Theme for Microsoft Solitaire as well.
