EA sports to have a new name, license with FIFA ends after decades
Electronic Arts, Video game company, has announced that it will remove its iconic football game FIFA’s license after nearly two decades of leading the genre. The Executive Vice President & Group GM, EA Sports at Electronic Arts, Cam Weber announced in a post the change in the name will be in force from July 2023.
EA, however, will continue making football games under the banner, EA Sports FC. According to EA, they will continue to offer real – world experiences with 19,000+ players, 700+ teams, 100+ stadiums and 30 leagues they have signed up, which includes Premier League, La Liga, UEFA, and Bundesliga.
Although, a launch of FIFA 23 is expected before the licensing deal ends.
