Later this year, the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy will be remastered for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices
The popular action-adventure role-playing games Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas will be remastered, according to publisher Rockstar Games, confirming prior rumours. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, a collection of the new games, will be released later this year. The remastered versions of the old GTA games are said to include graphical upgrades and current gameplay additions while yet preserving the vintage look and feel of the originals.
Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas will be remastered and released as Grand Theft Auto: The Definitive Edition for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/ S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the Rockstar Games Launcher on PC. In the first half of 2022, it will also be available for iOS and Android.
The exact date of the improvements’ release has yet to be determined. Rockstar Games will begin withdrawing current versions of the old GTA games from digital retailers next week as a result of the upcoming launch. Existing players who purchased the games before will be able to download them.
The release of the remastered versions coincides with the 20th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto III, which has been around since October 2001. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of its iconic title, Rockstar Games is delivering a slew of unique gear. This fall, the items will be available for purchase in GTA Online.
