Love playing games on phones? You can now play them on your PC too, here’s how
Years have passed since Chromebooks first gained access to Android applications and games. Google asserts that “early Alpha” gaming controls created for some touchscreen-only games will be available to ChromeOS users. Since touchscreen phones are frequently absent from PCs, games for mobile devices are designed for them. Google’s operating system, ChromeOS 105, can close the gap by converting key inputs into virtual touches.
When revealing plans for a Steam Alpha earlier this year, Google also made mention of the initial hints of the capacity. Over a year ago, Android Police discovered the feature for the first time. Future Chromebook-compatible Google Play games will support more mouse, gamepads, and other types of touch inputs, and players will have access to an editor that will make it possible to map those controls to those games.
Google’s announcement lists all the games that are now supported, and they include a few games with single- and multi-button controls, like Hill Climb Racing and Tap Titans 2, as well as action games with joystick controls, like Pixel Blade R – Revolution, 2048 variations to test out swipe controls, and action games with joystick controls, like Pixel Blade R – Revolution.
It may not be necessary to have a way to play more mobile games from the keyboard if you already own a gaming PC, game console, or even your phone. Kids who use Chromebooks as their primary device or anyone else who enjoys this type of game may find it easier to play while we wait for Steam to be made available on more ChromeOS devices and for Google to make its games store accessible on Windows PCs.
It should be accessible soon and was planned to appear on the stable release channel yesterday. Users who are running version 105 or higher don’t need to take any further steps to test it out. The keys that correspond to the various touch controllers will be displayed in an overlay when you run a game that supports game controls, claims Google.
