PlayStation VR2 Expands Library with Five New Titles, Hitman World of Assassination Delayed to 2025
Sony has announced updates for several PlayStation VR2 titles, including new releases and a notable delay, as part of its holiday lineup expansion.
Mare, a puzzle adventure from Lonekite Games, launches today. The game features two distinct modes: a Classic mode utilizing eye-tracking for puzzle-solving, and an Enhanced mode that takes advantage of the PS VR2 Sense controllers. Players can guide their AI companion through a mysterious archipelago using lightning-like powers.
Coming November 26, rhythm game enthusiasts can look forward to Trombone Champ: Unflattened. Developed by Flat2VR, the game features adaptive trigger support for realistic trombone feedback, with over 20 instruments to unlock, 50 collectible cards, and various game modes.
Masters of Light, releasing December 18, puts players in the role of The Wanderer, a light-wielding being battling shadow armies. The game utilizes PS VR2’s eye tracking and 90Hz refresh rate, along with haptic feedback for spell-casting effects.
Survivos’ Alien: Rogue Incursion, launching December 19, has gone gold. The sci-fi horror title takes place on LV-354, featuring a new, more aggressive variant of the Xenomorph. The game incorporates themes of corporate corruption and professional hubris, with players facing off against this enhanced alien threat.
However, fans of the Hitman series will need to wait longer than expected. IO Interactive has pushed back Hitman World of Assassination’s PS VR2 release to March 27, 2025, citing the need for additional development time. The delayed release promises full adaptive trigger and haptic support, along with new positional interactions requiring physical movements for various in-game actions.
