Rockstar Games announces free Grand Theft Auto V PC upgrade with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S features coming march 4

Rockstar Games has revealed a significant free upgrade for Grand Theft Auto V on PC, launching March 4, 2025. The update will bring features previously exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, along with enhanced graphics options and improved performance.
PC players who own GTAV will receive this upgrade at no cost and can transfer both their Story Mode and Online progress. The update introduces several console-exclusive features to PC, including Hao’s Special Works vehicles and upgrades, wildlife encounters, and the option to purchase GTA+ Membership.
Key Features Coming to PC
The upgrade introduces Hao’s Special Works (HSW) auto shop within the LS Car Meet, offering premium vehicle upgrades. Players can access five previously console-exclusive vehicles:
- Coil Cyclone II (Super)
- Imponte Arbiter GT (Muscle)
- Karin S95 (Sports)
- Pegassi Weaponized Ignus (Super)
- Pfister Astron Custom (SUV)
Additionally, HSW will offer performance upgrades for various existing vehicles across multiple categories, including Super, Sports, Sports Classic, Muscle, and more.
Technical Enhancements
The upgrade brings significant technical improvements, including:
- PC-exclusive ray tracing features (ambient occlusion and global illumination)
- Ray traced shadows and reflections
- Support for AMD FSR1 and FSR3, and NVIDIA DLSS 3
- Faster loading times with SSD and DirectStorage support
- Enhanced resolution, aspect ratio, and framerate support
- DualSense® controller support with adaptive triggers
- Improved audio with Dolby Atmos support
GTA+ Membership
PC players can now access GTA+ Membership, which includes:
- Monthly GTA$500,000
- Member-only Shark Cards with 15% bonus GTA$
- The Vinewood Club benefits
- 100-vehicle storage capacity garage
- Special vehicle customizations
- Access to classic Rockstar Games titles
Important Notes for PC Players
Rockstar will maintain support for the previous version of GTAV, allowing players with hardware below the new requirements to continue playing. However, the original GTA Online PC version will become a separate instance, meaning players on different versions cannot play together. Both versions will be available to upgraded users and new purchasers.
